THE ORIGINS

Established in Biella in 1972, Lanificio Piemontese began to move into the market with the production of high-quality fabrics for women’s fashions. In 1996, Mauro Caneparo, the current General Manager, radically reorganised the 1970s company structure to enter the system of the international fashion world.

TODAY

Today Lanificio Piemontese is established in the production of luxury fabrics, and has become a point of reference for the best international brands. The new management is transforming the creative identity introducing alongside the traditional products a range of refined, innovative fabrics: jacquards, fil coupé, damasks and Gobelins. The archive, preserved within the historical salons of the company, thus becomes a source of inspiration for the creation of new proposals. A link with the past, but always with an eye to the future.

JOINING GRUPPO PIACENZA

In November 2020, Gruppo Piacenza 1733, the historical leader in the creation of fabrics and clothing of the highest quality, acquired Lanificio Piemontese, the Biellese company which is the expression of excellence in the wool-producing region.
A combination of intentions which guided the choice of Gruppo Piacenza 1733 in the acquisition of the company with which it shares values and traditions, and which initiated a strategy for growth in terms of its proposals and internationalisation.

NEW HEADQUARTERS

In 2022, after the later acquisitions made by Gruppo Piacenza 1733, Lanificio Piemontese changed its headquarters and moved to the management centre of Lanificio F.lli Cerruti dal 1881, which was designed by Vico Magistretti in 2006. A modern space where industry and nature come together to bring life to modern, contemporary architecture.
